Job Fraud

Job fraud is very common. Scammers are using fake job listings and employment offers with the goal of attaining personal information.

During the recruiting and job-seeking process, South Wind Shipping will never:

  • Request any financial information inclusive of credit card, bank account, and/or routing numbers 
  • Require the applicant to pay for any services or purchase any equipment
  • Require the applicant to provide any personal documentation such as a social security number or visa number
South Wind will not reach out via social media to extend job offers and all communication will be done via email and/or phone/video chat. 

Please report all suspected job scams to the Federal Trade Commission or your state attorney general. Additionally, if you believe that you have been a victim of a South Wind job scam, please contact us.
